✈️🌎 WR Travel Co.: Where Classroom Learning Takes You! 🧳📍
What happens when students become travel agents? Real-world learning takes off at Community Elementary School! ✈️
Mrs. Wheelon’s and Mr. Roberts’ classes took on the roles of travel agents recently through a Project-Based Learning (PBL) experience, creating personalized Fall Break getaways for teachers throughout the building!
As agents for WR Travel Co., students interviewed their clients, researched destinations, compared hotels and attractions, planned meals, calculated gas mileage and worked within travel budgets. Using Tennessee Travel Guides generously donated by the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, along with online resources, students organized their research into client folders before designing custom travel brochures to present their finished itineraries. 🗺️📂
To bring their learning full circle, #students welcomed Dolly Sharp, owner of Two Sisters Travel in Shelbyville, who shared firsthand insight into the responsibilities and career opportunities involved in being a professional travel agent!
From budgeting and research to creativity and client communication, these students put their skills to work in an exciting, real-world project. Who knew planning a vacation could teach so much? 🌟👏
