Math Homework

Math facts fluency refers to the ability to recall the basic facts in all four operations accurately, quickly, and effortlessly.  When students achieve automaticity with these facts, they have attained a level of mastery that enables them to retrieve them for long-term memory without conscious effort or attention.  Therefore, studying and learning math facts is a vital part of your child's math education.  Math facts are important because they form building blocks for higher-level math concepts.  When a child masters their math facts, these concepts will be significantly easier and they will be better equipped to solve them faster.  If they spend a lot of time doing the basic facts, they will be more likely to be confused with the processes and get lost.  A lack of fluency in basic math facts hinders their progress with problem-solving, algebra and higher-order math concepts.

Your child will be assigned to study their math facts daily.  Students will need to record this information on a log that will need to be signed each day by a parent or guardian.
